May 22 marks International Day for Biological Diversity. CGTN's Su Yuting speaks to Astrid Schomaker, executive secretary of the Montreal-based Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. Her organization helps governments implement the Convention on Biological Diversity – an international legal instrument ratified by more than 190 countries. In this interview, they discuss why swift action is needed to draft and implement national plans on biodiversity as well as China's efforts for biodiversity conservation.
