A sudden mountain torrent and mudslide hit Sanshe Village in Sishui Township, Longsheng County, Guilin City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in the early hours of May 23, leaving eight people unaccounted for and damaging ten houses. According to the Guangxi Emergency Management Department, local emergency teams, firefighters and police have been deployed and are carrying out rescue operations at the scene.
