The Chinese Foreign Ministry highlighted the highly complementary ties between China and the Netherlands in the semiconductor sector, adding that the two countries will maintain close communication through existing channels.

At a regular press briefing on Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks when responding to questions regarding talks held during the recent visit of Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp.

"The semiconductor industry is highly globalized, and the formation of supply chains is driven by market dynamics and business decisions. However, certain countries have been generalizing the concept of national security, imposing excessive export controls and 'long-arm jurisdiction,' which poses a significant threat to the stability of global supply chains," Mao said.

She further emphasized that China and the Netherlands are "highly complementary in the semiconductor sector" and called their cooperation "mutually beneficial." She expressed China's willingness to work with the international community, including the Netherlands, to promote open collaboration and ensure the stability of global semiconductor supply chains.
