U.S. President Donald Trump revoked Harvard University's certification under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program on Thursday, effectively blocking the institution from enrolling international students. This move could impact about a quarter of the university's student body.

CGTN Stringer interviewed several Harvard students from the U.S., Germany and Australia to learn about how this decision will affect international students pursuing degrees at Harvard and the university itself. Britney Jones, a former American Harvard student in social sciences, told CGTN that banning international students is a "tragic mistake," noting that it "punishes all the students at Harvard" by depriving them of opportunities to "learn from the global community." Australian student Lucas Adams said he disagrees with Trump's decision and hopes that Harvard can take measures to allow international students to continue their studies.
