Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Cook Islands on July 25, 1997, bilateral ties have developed steadily. Exchanges and cooperation in areas such as trade and culture have continued to deepen, yielding increasingly fruitful results.

Located in the South Pacific between French Polynesia and Fiji, the Cook Islands consist of 15 picturesque islands. A self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand, its capital is Avarua.

Far from the distractions and pollution of modern civilization, the Cook Islands have preserved their unspoiled natural beauty and simple, authentic way of life. For this reason, they are often hailed as a "paradise on the sea."
