An Israeli air strike on Gaza recently hit the home of medical doctor Alaa al-Najjar, killing nine of her 10 children while she was on duty in hospital. The eldest of the children was 12. A pediatrics specialist at al-Tahrir hospital, within the Nasser medical complex, said she was treating victims of the ongoing conflict when the attack took place. A representative of Nasser hospital said one of Najjar's children and her husband were injured but survived.
CGTN stringer in Khan Yunis interviewed the doctor's brother-in-law, Ali al-Najjar, at the site of the tragic incident. He said he heard a deafening blast that shook the entire area when the explosion occurred. By the time he rushed over to the doctor's home, it had been reduced to rubble.
