More plastic than fish? Pacific islands call out for help

The Pacific island nations are facing an unprecedented marine crisis. Overfishing is depleting fish stocks, plastic waste is suffocating coral reefs and rising sea levels threaten their very existence. With limited resources to tackle these challenges, these nations are seeking solutions.  

CGTN sat down with Prof. Liang Jiarui, executive deputy director of the Pacific Island Countries Research Center at Liaocheng University, to explore China's role in supporting environmental recovery and sustainable development.
