China commenced offshore transport of the new central processing platform for the Phase I development of Kenli 10-2 Oilfield, the largest lithologic oilfield it has discovered offshore. The departure from the eastern coastal city of Qingdao marked the completion of the onshore construction of the platform. Weighing 20,000 tonnes with a height of 22.8 meters, the platform will be the largest oil and gas development platform in the Bohai Sea, a semi-enclosed sea on the northern coast of China. It will go through a series of tests after the module installation finishes in early June and go into operation by the end of this year.
