Buhurt, a form of full-contact armored combat that originated in Europe, arrived in China in 2016. Today, it remains a niche competitive sport practiced primarily within specialist circles. Still, its early adopters have succeeded in gaining a growing following in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Chengdu.
