The world's highest ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission project completed its final line installation, achieving full-line connectivity. The project will connect hydropower and new energy from the upper reaches of the Jinsha River to the ultra-high voltage alternating current backbone grid in central China. The line spans 1,901 kilometers across the Xizang Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province, Chongqing Municipality and Hubei Province. Once completed, it will become China's first large-capacity, water-solar hybrid clean energy transmission corridor, capable of delivering 40 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
