Shenzhou-20 crew sends video message from space to mark Children's Day

01:19

The Shenzhou-20 crew from China's orbiting Tiangong space station extended their greetings to children around the world via a video message ahead of International Children's Day on June 1.

Made up of Chinese astronauts Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie, the crew shared their childhood aspirations to contribute to China's space exploration program. They also expressed their hope that younger generations would study hard and play an active role in the nation's development.

The Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft was successfully launched on April 24, 2025.

The crew has since then installed a debris shield on the radial hatch of the core module's node cabin, conducted experiments on planarian regeneration and performed a full-system pressure emergency drill. They have also carried out extravehicular activities, such as installing space debris protection devices and inspecting extravehicular equipment and facilities.
