U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday criticized a trade court decision that ruled he had exceeded his authority in imposing his most sweeping tariffs, calling it wrong and expressing hope that the Supreme Court would overturn it.

"The ruling by the U.S. Court of International Trade is so wrong, and so political! Hopefully, the Supreme Court will reverse this horrible, Country-threatening decision, QUICKLY and DECISIVELY," he wrote on Truth Social.

A federal appeals court has temporarily reinstated the duties.
