China and Vietnam shared four goals in their second game, which resulted in a 2-2 draw at the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Under-16 International Tournament in Hohhot, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Friday.
The home team's Liang Shiyu opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a clinical finish. Just five minutes later, Wan Xiang made it 2-0 with a close-range tap-in, following a low cross from Zhang Xuyao.
But two minutes into the second half, Nguyen Luc's free kick found Van Duong, who converted a header to get Vietnam on the scoreboard. The situation worsened for China when Zhang Junhao received a red card for a reckless stamp on an opposing player's thigh, forcing the hosts into a more defensive posture.
The climax arrived in the 85th minute when Sy Bach unleashed a spectacular curling strike from near the byline, catching Chinese goalkeeper Li Qifu flat-footed as the ball made its way into the net to level the contest at 2-2.
Both teams finished with 10 men after Vietnam's Tri Dung was dismissed in stoppage time. China will face Australia on Sunday.
