U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has ordered its diplomatic missions abroad to stop scheduling new appointments for student and exchange visitor visa applicants, as the State Department prepares to expand social media vetting of foreign students, according to an internal cable seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
Romil Udayakumar TNV, an Indian student from Kerala State planning to apply to a U.S. university, said the move is unfair to those hoping to pursue studies in the United States and that he would consider other countries offering quality education resources. He also criticized the expansion of social media vetting for international students, claiming it has gone too far.
