Thanks to China's visa-free policy, more foreign visitors arrived in Pingyao Ancient City in Shanxi Province during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. In the courtyard of a local guesthouse, an Australian couple learned to make zongzi – traditional glutinous rice dumplings – with the help of local residents. It was their first visit to Pingyao and their first attempt at making such a thing. They also tried their hand at traditional paper-cutting and tile rubbing.
