Ukraine says it completed its biggest long-range attack of the war with Russia on Sunday, after using smuggled drones to launch a series of major strikes on dozens of Russian warplanes at four military bases. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 117 drones were used in the Spider's Web operation by Ukraine's domestic security agency, striking "34 percent of (Russia's) strategic cruise missile carriers."
Russian media outlets, however, have pushed back against these claims. The anti-disinformation Telegram channel @warfakes argued that Ukraine's account was exaggerated, stating that only two Tu-95 strategic bombers and one An-12 transport aircraft were possibly destroyed, and most of the damaged aircraft are expected to return to service after repairs.
