Kyrgyzstan, a landlocked country in the heart of Central Asia, is steadily emerging as a key player in regional connectivity and trade. In recent years, cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan has deepened through transformative infrastructure projects.
The China-aided North-South highway is becoming a vital artery linking Kyrgyzstan's north and south. With two phases of construction completed, the highway will boost both domestic connectivity and international transport across Central Asia.
The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is another milestone. Starting in Kashgar, in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, crossing through Kyrgyzstan, and reaching Uzbekistan, it establishes a crucial new corridor connecting these countries to Europe. Once completed, the railway will be a vital development driver for Central Asia, improving access to international markets for regional mineral resources and attracting foreign investment.
