The China National Offshore Oil Corporation announced the successful float-over installation of the central processing platform for Phase I of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield in Bohai Bay, a billion-ton-grade project that set regional records for platform size and weight. The eight-legged, three-tiered platform stands 22.8 meters tall and covers an area equal to 15 basketball courts, making it the largest ever installed in the region. Due to its size, engineers used a float-over method, leveraging tidal forces to position it onto jacket legs.
