Chinese shuttlers Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning won the women's doubles gold at the Indonesia Open on Sunday, while their compatriot Wang Zhiyi earned the silver in the women's singles event.

Liu and Tan triumphed over Malaysia's Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan in a three-set thriller, 23-25, 21-12, 21-19.

"I felt a little bit tired so I tried not to get too excited and calm down, giving more chances to my partner to play," Tan said after the match. "She played more and more confidently and did better work than me. I tried to do my job well and not cause trouble for her."

Meanwhile, women's singles world No. 2 Wang finished runner-up after falling to Paris Olympic champion An Se-young of South Korea.

The final was full of rallies that tested the nerves and stamina of both players, ending with a scoreline of 13-21, 21-19, 21-15.
