China has voiced strong opposition to reported U.S. arms deliveries to Taiwan, including M1A2 tanks and plans for expanded military support over the next four years. Beijing also responded to claims by a former U.S. official that around 500 American military personnel are currently operating in Taiwan. China's Defense Ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin said on Monday that such actions by the U.S. and separatist forces in Taiwan seriously threaten peace across the Straits.
