China's robotics startup EngineAI has filed a patent for a novel control method that enables straight-leg walking in humanoid robots, according to corporate data platforms Tianyancha and Qichacha.

The patent outlines a complex AI-driven approach that uses human gait data, adversarial networks and real-world testing feedback to optimize robot movement across varied scenarios. 

While still at the research stage, this type of motion control technology is seen as essential to making humanoid robots walk with greater energy efficiency, stability and human-like agility.
