The first gold medal of China's 15th National Games was won by Shanghai who beat Guangdong 1-0 in the women's U16 football final at Tianhe Stadium in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province on Tuesday.
Guangdong won a penalty in the 33rd minute, but Liu Yuke's shot was saved by Bai Shuiling.
In the 75th minute, Shanghai were returned the favor. Cheng Wandi was able to convert a penalty that proved decisive, as Shanghai claimed the first competitive gold medal of the 15th edition of the National Games.
