Olympic champion and World No. 2 Wang Chuqin helped Shandong beat Jiangsu 3-0 for their fourth straight win at the Chinese Table Tennis Super League (CTTSL) in Xiong'an, north China's Hebei Province on Tuesday.

In the opening doubles match, Liang Jingkun and Lin Yun-Ju defeated Liang Yanning and Song Zhuoheng in straight games with scores of 11-7, 11-9, 11-6 to give Shandong a 1-0 lead.

Then in the men's singles, Wang was up against Quan Kaiyuan. During the match, Wang suffered from low blood sugar, but he found his form after treatment to win the match 11-9, 13-11, 11-2 and give Shandong a 2-0 lead.

The third match was also a singles fixture. Liang brushed aside Song 11-9, 11-5, 11-6 to wrap up the 3-0 win, as Shandong claimed their fourth consecutive victory in the league.

"I played as I normally do. I took a big lead in the second game, but then I found myself distracted when I needed to pay attention. Also during the second game, I felt my blood sugar had dropped. But I ate some chocolate and had some drinks to make me feel better," said Wang.

On the women's side, Shanghai beat Huangshi 3-0. Chen Yi and Sun Mingyang played against Wang Tianyi and Han Fei'er in the opening doubles match. Chen and Sun started strong to win the first game 12-10 and then took the next two games 11-8, 11-6 to give Shanghai the lead in the tie.

In the second singles match, He Zhuojia edged a close opening game 11-9 against Huangshi's overseas player Shin Yubin from South Korea. She then dominated the next two games 11-5, 11-7 to move Shanghai 2-0 ahead.

Chen then had a hard-fought singles match against Han, but still won in straight games 13-11, 11-8, 11-7 to wrap up Shanghai's first victory of the season.
