CGTN

As the birthplace of the Shanghai International Film Festival and one of the cradles of Chinese cinema, Shanghai has achieved remarkable success in film and television culture. In the process, it has also become a popular international tourist destination. Many of the city's tourist attractions have appeared in films, TV dramas and variety shows, showcasing its rich cultural legacy and contemporary urban prosperity.

North Bund Bay

As a symbol of Shanghai and often hailed as the city's Wall Street, the Bund lies at the heart of the city's allure. Just as the Great Wall is to Beijing and the Terracotta Warriors are to Xi'an, the Bund stands as an iconic emblem of Shanghai's rich history and modern vitality. It has featured in films such as  "Go Lala Go 2" and "Five Hundred Miles," as well as popular variety shows including "Running Man,""Challenger Alliance" and "Go Fighting!"

Fengjing Ancient Town

With its typical water town aesthetics, Fengjing Ancient Town is one of the top attractions in the suburbs of Shanghai. Many of its original structures remain well-preserved, including 52 bridges, 29 blocks and 84 alleyways, all of which help to retain the town's authentic ambience. Popular TV dramas such as "Nothing but Thirty" and "My Best Friend's Story" have been filmed there.

Nine Trees Future Art Center

Located in Shanghai's Fengxian District, the Nine Trees Future Art Center is one of the most popular venues for art and culture in China. Nestled in a forest reserve, the center presents a conceptual blend of nature, architecture, humanity, and art. It opened to the public in 2019, and has since hosted both Chinese and international arts and entertainment performances in its indoor and outdoor theaters. Many TV dramas and films have been shot there, including "To Dear Myself,""You Are My Glory,""Ode to Joy 3" and "Men in Love."

M50 Creative Park

According to Time Magazine, a visit to M50 Moganshan Road is one of the top 10 things to do in Shanghai. As the city's main contemporary art district, it attracts visitors from near and far, with over 100 artists having set up studios there. The M50 Creative Park has been transformed from a disused industrial site into a bustling internet-famous arts and cultural destination. It has appeared in the popular TV drams "Go Go Squid!" and "My Sunshine."

Blackstone Apartments

Built in 1924, the lavish Blackstone Apartments in Shanghai is one of the oldest Baroque-style apartment buildings in the city. The six-story structure features a symmetrical facade and is named for its use of British concrete and black stonework. Today, the century-old building and its surrounding area have been transformed into "Blackstone Music Plus," a vibrant entertainment and cultural destination that includes bookstores, cafes, restaurants, bars, and music studios, attracting crowds of visitors. The apartment block has also served as a popular location for film and television productions, such as "Life is A Long Quiet River" and "My Best Friend's Story."

Huangpu River

Some of the most popular tourist spots along the Huangpu River in Shanghai include the Bund, Lujiazui and Nanjing Pedestrian Street. These locations have often been featured in films, TV dramas and variety shows, such as "Up Idol,""Go Fighting" and "If Time Flows Back," to showcase the prosperity of the city. Taking a night cruise along the river is one of the best ways to experience the city's glamour.
