China opposes unilateral imposition of tariffs and urges the U.S. to abide by the provisions of the World Trade Organization, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Chinese Commerce Ministry, said on Thursday.

He made the remarks at a press briefing when answering questions from a CGTN reporter about U.S. President Donald Trump's trade deal remarks on Wednesday.

The spokesperson urged the U.S. to work with China under the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation to promote the stable and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade ties.
