Sun Yujie of China won the women's 25-meter pistol gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Munich, Germany, on Wednesday.
Sun was not in her best form in the qualification round, as she made it through ranked last among the eight finalists. The 20-year-old bounced back with a vengeance under the biggest spotlight, however, scoring 38 points to top the podium.
The triumph marked was her third victory in this year's World Cup series after also prevailing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Lima, Peru, in April.
The silver medal went to Oh Ye-jin of South Korea, who finished with 36 points. Her compatriot Yang Ji-in earned the bronze medal with 32 points. China's Yao Qianxun, who ranked first in the qualification round, settled for fifth place in the final.
The next World Cup rifle and pistol stop will take place in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province, from September 7 to 15.
