Haikou's volcanic lychees pave a sweet path for rural revitalization

Yongxing Town, the main production area for Haikou's volcanic lychees in Hainan Province, is situated in a volcanic rock region with a millennium-long history of lychee cultivation. The unique soil and climate conditions here have nurtured the "volcanic lychee king," a variety known for its exceptionally large size, thick flesh, and distinctive flavor. These fruit, over twice the size of traditional lychees, are highly prized by consumers.

It's currently the harvest season for the Haikou volcanic lychees, where a modern distribution center employs cold-chain processes for sorting, preserving and packaging the fruit. Thanks to rigorous quality control measures and seamless logistics, the lychees reach consumers across China in peak freshness.

To expand sales, Yongxing Town has established connections with key markets in the Yangtze River Delta, including Shanghai, Suzhou and Yiwu, while forging long-term partnerships with other major distributors. Beyond domestic markets, Haikou's volcanic lychees have also entered overseas markets, with exports now reaching Canada, Singapore, Japan, the UAE, the Netherlands, Argentina, and Morocco.
