Joint construction of the terminal by Xi'an International Port Group and the Kazakhstan Railway Customs Company began in March this year. The Almaty terminal has an annual capacity of 115,000 standard containers, a 1.2 kilometer railway loading line, and can store over 1,100 standard containers. The rail station is a major outcome of the first China-Central Asia Summit in 2023.
