The 4th leg of the 2025 National Athletics Grand Prix kicked off in Bengbu on Friday.

The three-day event features a wide range of track and field disciplines, including men's and women's 100m, 200m, 400m, as well as field events like shot put, javelin and hammer throw.

Over 1,500 athletes from across the country are competing, with star athletes such as Su Bingtian, Chen Jiapeng, Li Yuting and Xia Sining making appearances.

On the opening day, Asian record holder Su Bingtian finished third in his men's 100m heat with a time of 10.52 seconds, failing to qualify for the semifinals. This marks Su's second outdoor competition of the season.

Su was placed in Heat 21 alongside Deng Xinrui, who holds the best national performance this season. Ultimately, Su ranked third in his heat and 32nd overall, missing the top 24 cutoff for the semifinals. Deng won the heat in 10.31 seconds, while Chen set a season-best of 10.28 seconds, topping all qualifiers.

The 2025 National Athletics Grand Prix consists of six legs, including Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province, Jiaxing in Zhejiang Province, Chongqing Municipality, Bengbu in Anhui Province, Qingdao in Shandong Province and Yulin in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
