In 1949, Yan Luoguo, the captain of the Dongshan Island ship, was forcibly taken to Taiwan by the previous KMT regime and was never heard from again. In 1983, his son Yan Dingzhao learned that his father had died in Penghu. In 2018, 82-year-old Yan Dingzhao finally found his father's remains with the help of his father's old friends and their descendants. That same year, Yan Dingzhao and his son traveled to Penghu to bring Yan Luoguo's remains back to his hometown in Dongshan for burial. #Taiwanthroughtheages
