A fishing boat from the Taiwan region was successfully rescued following a week-long operation led by the Zhoushan deep-sea vessel Shunhang-9 in the stormy waters of the Strait of Malacca. The incident occured when the vessel suffered a mechanical failure, losing all propulsion while battling rough weather and fast-moving tides. As the boat drifted helplessly, the crew sent out a distress signal. Approximately 30 nautical miles away, the Shunhang-9 received the call for help and immediately sprang into action, navigating treacherous seas at full speed to reach the disabled vessel.
