Suzani embroidery, meaning "of needles" in Persian, is an Uzbek textile art that transforms bridal items into storytelling canvases. Women stitch pomegranates and celestial motifs with silk thread.

Nanjing Yunjin, known as China's "cloud brocade," dazzled emperors with its gold-wrapped silk threads. Woven on 5.6-meter-long looms requiring two artisans – one to weave and one to program patterns – it remains the pinnacle of luxury, inscribed by UNESCO in 2009.

Both the traditions show that textiles are civilization's first language.
