China has successfully completed a zero-altitude escape flight test of its new-generation manned spacecraft, Mengzhou, at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

The test verified the spacecraft's ability to safely abort a launch at ground level, with the return capsule landing smoothly using airbag cushioning.
