The Israeli army launched new attacks on western Iran on Tuesday, local media reported. Aerial warfare between the countries has cost the lives of at least 244 people in Iran and 24 in Israel since Friday.

Israel's military claimed on Tuesday that it assassinated Iran's wartime chief of staff. Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck the Israeli military intelligence building and the Mossad headquarters in Tel Aviv.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry and relevant embassies and consulates are in the process of urgently organizing the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran and Israel, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun on Tuesday.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he wanted a "real end" to the nuclear problem with Iran and indicated he may send senior American officials to meet with the Islamic Republic as the Israel-Iran air war raged for a fifth straight day.
