The Israeli military said Thursday it had targeted a nuclear reactor near Arak and struck what it described as a nuclear weapons development site in the Natanz area.
Among Iran's nuclear facilities is a partially built heavy-water research reactor, formerly known as Arak and now referred to as Khondab.
According to Iranian state television, cited by Xinhua, the Arak facility was evacuated prior to the strike, and there is no risk of radioactive leakage.
Israel had previously issued warnings about a potential strike on the site.
