We Talk: Kazakhstanis hail summit as new opportunity for Silk Road cooperation

The second China-Central Asia Summit was held on June 17 in Astana, Kazakhstan. During the summit, 12 cooperation agreements were announced, covering Belt and Road collaboration, personnel exchanges, green mining, trade, connectivity, industry, and customs.

CGTN Stringer in Kazakhstan spoke with local residents about their views on the summit and their expectations for future China-Kazakhstan cooperation. A local resident, Zhalyn said the China-Central Asia Summit marked a new phase of cooperation along the Silk Road. Erzat, a local engineer, stated, "I believe this kind of cooperation among Central Asian countries can lay a solid foundation for the development of industries like metallurgy, chemical engineering, and logistics, while driving overall progress across multiple fields."
