With high temperatures persisting, global demand for summer cooling products is surging. In Guangling County, Shanxi Province, local artisans are busy fulfilling a wave of export orders. They weave traditional cooling mats, seat pads and hand fans using locally sourced willow twigs and bulrush. What began as a traditional craft has grown into a thriving industry, with an annual output valued at over 11 million yuan (about $1.5 million). In addition to domestic sales, the products are now exported to more than 20 countries and regions, including France and Germany.
