Speaking on the LA protests to MSNBC, former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said it was "state violence" perpetrated by ICE that triggered civil unrest.

While condemning "political violence" on both sides, de Blasio reminds viewers that historically populations get restive when the social contract breaks down and a crisis of democracy ensues.
