As the promotional ambassador for the Belt and Road Film Week at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival, Chinese actor Yu Shi shared how he hopes to engage young moviegoers with films from Belt and Road countries. He noted that while the 15 featured films come from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, they all share emotional stories that resonate deeply and deserve to be seen by more young viewers. Yu also reflected on his role as Batay, a Kazakh ethnic youth in the TV series "To the Wonder," which he sees as a symbol of cross-cultural connection. The series is currently airing in Kazakhstan and has struck a strong chord with local audiences.
