The Israeli military said on Friday it carried out strikes on dozens of military targets in the heart of Iran overnight, including an attack on the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), which it said is involved in Iran's nuclear weapons development.

"The IDF completed a series of overnight strikes in the heart of Tehran: Dozens of targets were attacked, including military industrial sites for missile production and the SPND headquarters for research and development of the nuclear weapons project," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

"More than 60 Air Force fighter jets attacked dozens of military targets in Iran overnight (Thursday) with precise intelligence guidance from the Intelligence Branch using approximately 120 munitions," according to the IDF.
