China has remained the largest trading partner for several South Asian countries, including Pakistan and Bangladesh, for consecutive years.

Trade between China and South Asian countries reached nearly $200 billion in 2024, doubling over the past decade with an average annual growth rate of around 6.3 percent, according to data released at a press conference by the State Council Information Office on June 6.

The 9th China-South Asia Expo (CSA Expo), held alongside the 29th China Kunming Import and Export Fair, is ongoing from June 19 to 24 in Kunming, the capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province. The event aims to further deepen regional economic ties and promote high-quality cooperation between China and South Asian countries.
