The air assault between Israel and Iran continued Friday night and early Saturday morning, as both countries reported air defense activations and explosions.

The IDF chief said the public must prepare for a "prolonged military campaign" in Iran, while Iran ruled out further nuclear talks with the U.S. until Israel halts its attacks.

Few signs of progress were seen after the Iranian foreign minister met with European foreign ministers on Friday in Geneva, although all parties signaled readiness to keep talking.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that Iran had a "maximum" of two weeks to avoid possible U.S. air strikes, indicating he could make a decision before the fortnight deadline he set a day earlier.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned on Friday that expansion of the Israel-Iran conflict could "ignite a fire no one can control" and called on both sides and potential parties to the conflict to "give peace a chance."

IAEA Chief Grossi warned that attacks on nuclear facilities could result in "radioactive releases with great consequences within and beyond boundaries" of the state attacked and called for maximum restraint.
