The Chinese national volleyball team beat old rivals Japan 3-1 to clinch their third consecutive win at the latest leg of this year's FIVB Women's Nations League in south China's Hong Kong SAR on Saturday.

In the first set, China took an early 5-1 lead, forcing Japan to call a timeout. Wu Mengjie scored several points in a row to extend the PRC's advantage, and they comfortably secured the set 25-15.

The second set saw China dominate from the start, cruising to a 25-12 victory.

Japan fought back in the third set, establishing an early 8-3 lead en route to claiming the frame 25-18.

The fourth set was tightly contested, with both teams locked at 21-21 before China scored three straight points to set up match point, ultimately closing out the set 25-22 to seal the victory.

China previously beat the Czech Republic 3-1 and Bulgaria 3-2. They will face Italy on Sunday night for their final match in the Hong Kong SAR leg of the series.
