U.S. President Donald Trump announced on June 21 local time that the U.S. had bombed three Iranian nuclear sites. One expert says the military attacks show "the paradox of what the U.S. says and what they do," adding that President Trump said he would bring peace as he ran for the presidency but has, in fact, fueled wars. Negar Mortazavi, a senior fellow at the Center for International Policy, says the attacks on Iran show a lack of understanding in the Trump administration of how negotiations and diplomacy should be carried out.
