Why is Iran's Fordow nuclear facility so critical?

00:58

Iran's Fordow nuclear facility is located in a mountainous area north of Qom. It's buried 90 meters underground in solid rock, making it highly resistant to attacks. Its uranium enrichment levels are higher than those of the Natanz facility. Since the U.S. withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018, Iran has resumed high-level uranium enrichment there, saying it is for civilian use. Israel's conventional weapons are incapable of destroying such a deeply buried site. According to U.S. media reports, only the GBU-57 bunker buster bomb could damage the plant, but it must be delivered by a B-2 stealth bomber.
