Over 300 people gathered at Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania to pay tribute to Zhang Junqiao, leader of China's 27th medical aid mission for Tanzania, who tragically died while rescuing a drowning woman on June 15.

The 38-year-old anesthesiologist from Shandong had been serving at the hospital since early 2024 and was praised for his dedication amid critical staff shortages.
