Chinese Premier Li Qiang will attend the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC), also known as the Summer Davos, in Tianjin from June 24 to 25, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced on Monday.

During the event, Premier Li will attend the opening plenary and deliver a speech, meet with foreign guests, and engage in conversations with representatives of the foreign business community, the spokesperson said.

President of Ecuador Daniel Noboa, Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Aleshovich Kasymaliev, Prime Minister of Senegal Ousmane Sonko, and Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh will attend the Summer Davos, according to Guo.

Themed "Entrepreneurship in the New Era," the event is expected to see over 1,700 representatives from the political, business, academic and media communities from more than 90 countries and regions.

This year's Summer Davos will focus on five key areas: deciphering the world economy, the outlook on China, industries disrupted, investing in people and the planet, and new energy and materials, according to the forum's official website.

As one of the most dynamic regions in the world, Asia drives 60 percent of global economic growth, with China accounting for half of that contribution, Gim Huay Neo, managing director of the World Economic Forum, said at an earlier press conference held on June 17.

She noted that this year's Summer Davos forum will provide participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of development trends in China and Asia.

The World Economic Forum has become synonymous with the town of Davos in the Swiss Alps, where it holds its annual meeting every January. However, there is another forum in China each June, known as Summer Davos.

The AMNC brings together global leaders, innovators, and change-makers to address pressing economic challenges while exploring new frontiers for sustainable and inclusive growth.

Since its inception in 2007, Summer Davos has established itself as a truly global event in China, convening the next generation of "new champions," fast-growing enterprises that are shaping the future of business and society.
