China will display its traditional main battle forces and new-domain forces with new combat capabilities in a military parade on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, according to a press conference on Tuesday.
In addition to presenting its latest generation of conventional weapons and equipment, the parade will highlight new-type combat capabilities, including unmanned intelligence systems, underwater combat units, cyber and electronic forces, and hypersonic weapons, demonstrating the Chinese military's strong ability to adapt to technological trends and evolving warfare, and to prevail in future wars, said Wu Zeke, a senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission.
All equipment to be on display is domestically produced and currently in service, said Wu. He noted that the parade will offer a concentrated demonstration of the military's system combat capabilities, new-domain and new-quality combat strength, and strategic deterrence power.
Wu said all the equipment presented is selected from the combat units of each military branch, which includes strategic strike forces, advanced equipment for tactical operations and new-type forces that match future warfare scenarios. It also covers diverse force categories, such as command and control, reconnaissance and early warning, air defense and anti-missile operation, fire strike, and comprehensive support.
China has conquered a large number of high-end technologies in recent years and developed a large array of advanced weapons and equipment, said Wu. The troops have been equipped with cutting-edge equipment including new aircraft carriers, destroyers, stealth fighters, drones and strategic missiles. These advancements have contributed to a remarkable leap in the country's combat capabilities and instilled greater confidence in the armed forces to fight and win future battles.
