The "Dark-faced Mazu" enshrined in Lugang Tianhou Temple in Taiwan is the Mazu statue that Shi Lang welcomed from Meizhou in 1683. Due to the use of incense over the years, the statue’s face has darkened over the years. It is also the only Meizhou ancestor god in Taiwan. This temple carries the historical connections between Fujian and Taiwan. #Taiwanthroughtheages
