At Summer Davos 2025, Chinese Premier Li Qiang borrowed the Chinese proverb "和气生财" to stress that harmony between nations and peoples is foundational for prosperity. He urged countries to "make the pie bigger" instead of only dwelling on how to divide it. Noureddine Ouadah, Algeria's minister of knowledge economy, start-ups and micro-enterprises, echoed the Chinese premier's insight. He applauded China's practice of treating all nations – big and small – with respect and equality. To achieve shared global prosperity, he said, "We need everyone."
